Uncovering the Truth: The Dark Side of the Cat & Dog Meat Trade in Southeast Asia

In Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia… many believe that the meat sold in street markets comes from “regulated, healthy farms,” but few realize:

— Over 90% of these cats and dogs are illegally captured strays or stolen pets.
— During transport, they are beaten, starved, dehydrated, and sometimes even boiled alive.
— Most so-called “quarantine procedures” are a sham—there’s no real guarantee of food safety or hygiene.

This is not only a profound desecration of life, but also a ticking public-health time bomb: rabies, bacterial infections, and other outbreaks could ignite at any moment, endangering entire communities.

— What can we do?

  1. Refuse to buy: Boycott the cat and dog meat trade and share the truth with everyone you know.

  2. Support stronger laws: Sign our online petition to urge Southeast Asian governments to enhance wildlife protection and tighten pet‐theft penalties.

  3. Donate to action: Help fund our rescue teams’ street patrols and temporary shelters, providing medical care and safety for injured strays.
